We grow and promote
herbs of all sorts.

Formed in spring 2004, the Northern Kentucky Herb Society is a non-profit educational forum for residents of Greater Northern Kentucky. Our members are interested in all aspects of herbs including their history, folklore, and cultivation as well as their use in medicine, cosmetics, crafts, and culinary arts.

Monthly meetings feature presentations and discussions of the characteristics and uses of herbs. They often involve tastings, hands-on cooking demonstrations, or craft projects.

We also host a variety of special events and service projects. Our largest on-going community project is developing and rehabilitating the herb gardens at the historic Dinsmore Homestead in Burlington, Kentucky. We also sponsor herb workshops for other organizations and at various Northern Kentucky locations. Our greatest pride and joy is Herbs & Spices Make Everything Nice, the cookbook we published in 2008.

Membership in the NKHS is open to herb lovers of all ages and does not require any special knowledge or skills. Dues are $15 per year. Prospective members are encouraged to attend a meeting as our guest to learn more about us.
